So we have not gone about things in the typical way.
Most people wouldn't consider speaking to a builder until they had the block of land- but not us! Paying a deposit with our builder has meant that our timeline is slightly different (and much longer) than your typical new build- but thats exactly what we wanted :)
From Go to Woah-
May 2017- Paid a $1000 deposit to the builder to "lock-in" the base price and promotion the builder was running.
June 2017- WE BOUGHT OUR BLOCK (Cue the popping of corks and some very excited family members).
September 2017- Will have our tender appointment (pay an additional $3000) and colour selection appointments with the builder.
October 2017- Contract signing with the builder (pay the final balance- 5% of build cost).
---- Spend the next 8 months saving like crazzzyyy people----
May/June 2018- Land is titled (we get access to start build...but won't actually start to build!).
September 2018- Commence build.
April/May 2019- Build finished- move in!!
This is a very basic timeline which will UNDOUBTEDLY change. In fact, I would bet my hat on it that when I look back at this post in 2 years time, I will laugh and marvel at how it all seemed so simple!
