Want to buy furniture for your new house but don’t have the space to store it? There is a solution.
One of the greatest discoveries during this build has been the free storage of large furniture companies. How you ask? All it takes is preparation and a little bit of research.
Since Steve and I have been living between two houses over the past 6 months, one of our greatest challenges has been where to store our belongings. When you add two couches and a bed to the mix, that's when a challenge turns in to a nightmare.
What we both didn't realise is that many large retailers will have a lay-by payment system, usually between 3-6 months where you not only get to pay for that item in instalments, they will keep it in their warehouse until you need it.
What to ask:
Do you have a lay-by or part-payment option?
What is the longest time you can store the item in your warehouse?
How much deposit do I need to put down today to purchase the item?
We have bought furniture from Forty Winks, Plush, Nick Scali and Focus On Furniture. This is also a great option to pay for those more expensive items over a longer period of time- that way you don't have to completely drain your bank account for the sake of a quality purchase.
Full marks go to Forty Winks who have kept our bed purchase in their warehouse since last October.
