Well what a journey so far.
In January 2017, on our way back from a trip to Albury we first had a spark of thought. We wondered what the opportunities in building a house were and when we found that the life in Beveridge felt like home, we embarked on an experience which has been nothing short of incredible.
There have been a few people who have asked if we're proud of the fact we have built our house. At first, it seemed like such a foreign concept to be proud of doing something that has always felt so...right. Having always gone with my gut feel on things, the hard yards put in over the past two years have always just been a means to an end, never a chore.
It is a moment to be proud of though.
Maybe not for the obvious materialistic-ness of having keys in our hand or even when we cross the threshold, through the front door. Above all else, I'm the proudest to have gone through this building journey with my best friend by my side.
Tomorrow I will have the keys to our house in one hand which is exciting. But firmly in my other hand, I will be grasping the hand of my love, my best friend- the one who will make it a home.
